Apologies

I’d like to take a moment to apologize to my readers. I said I was going to post things, and then I failed to post them. I’m a man who keeps his word, so it’s especially troubling that I did not do so here.

To make things worse, I no longer have the setup/hardware that I was using to test various components is no longer available, which means I need to reconfigure everything on new hardware. To compound this issue, I also need to rebase a month’s worth of commits onto the E19 branch, which is going to take some time.

I did, however, make good on one promise: burrito has been in git since just after the presentation. It’s a bit difficult to set up, however, since it requires the manually patching/building of spice-gtk, but it does work. I’ll work on all of this, but it might take a week or two.

I should be blogging much more regularly from here on out, so expect updates.

    • I don’t know if I would say it like that… It also appears to use the SPICE protocol to connect to VMs — I think this would be the neat stuff. I know little of SPICE but http://www.spice-space.org/faq.html has a lot of good intro info. Particularly interesting is the “SPICE for newbies” pdf. I now can not tell if it’s for VMs only, or if it will also allow all the graphical goodness of EFL/E over the network for non-virtualized computers as well. Either way, still looking forward to the demo video 🙂
